Why it matters
Why restaurant advertising in Cyprus is a local, seasonal game
People decide where to eat late and close to home. A couple in Limassol scrolling Instagram at six, a family in Nicosia searching "sunday lunch near me", a group in Kato Paphos comparing harbour terraces on their phones. The gap between craving and booking is short. Restaurant marketing in Cyprus works when your ad appears inside that gap, in the right city, with a reason to choose you.
Most restaurant ad accounts we open are a boosted post here and there. No pixel, no booking event, no idea whether last weekend's €200 brought a single table through the door. The owner concludes that ads do not work for restaurants. Nobody measured them, so nobody knows.
We run restaurant campaigns city by city. Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos and Larnaca each have their own page on this site because each behaves differently: different feeder neighbourhoods, different mix of locals and visitors, different busy nights. Our Christmas 2025 bookings campaign returned 3.32× ROAS on Facebook ads, and the method behind it is the one described here.

What we run
Campaign types we run for restaurants, cafes and bars
Each campaign gets one job: reservations, orders, footfall or awareness for a launch. One campaign trying to do all four does none of them well.
- 01
Facebook and Instagram booking campaigns
Conversion campaigns optimised for a reservation event on your booking widget or website. Creative shows the food, the room and the price point, so the click already knows what it is booking.
- 02
Occasion and event campaigns
Christmas dinners, New Year's Eve menus, Easter Sunday lunch, Valentine's, brunch launches. Short, dated campaigns with a clear offer and a deadline, which is exactly where our 3.32× ROAS result came from.
- 03
Google Search and Maps campaigns
Terms like "restaurant near me", "fish taverna Larnaca" and "brunch Limassol", plus their Greek equivalents. Location assets, call extensions and radius targeting so you appear while the decision is being made.
- 04
Delivery and takeaway campaigns
For venues with their own ordering page, we drive orders directly and track them to the confirmation screen. Cheaper than paying platform commission on every ad-driven order.
- 05
Instagram Reels and Stories for launches and specials
Short video of the dish, the bar or the terrace, used to build a warm audience of local diners. That audience then sees the booking ads at a fraction of cold-traffic cost.
- 06
Retargeting for regulars
Past bookers, page engagers and site visitors get a different message: new menu, seasonal specials, a reason to come back. Small budget, usually the most efficient ad set in the account.
Included
What restaurant clients get from us
Six habits that separate an account that fills tables from one that collects likes.
City-level targeting
Radius and neighbourhood targeting built around where your diners actually live and stay: the marina and Molos in Limassol, the centre of Nicosia, Kato Paphos, Finikoudes in Larnaca. Never "all of Cyprus".
Creative from your kitchen
We brief and shape photo and video around what sells: the dish, the view, the table on a Saturday night. Stock food photography does not book tables.
Seasonal planning
A campaign calendar built weeks ahead for Christmas, Easter, summer and the quiet stretches between, so budget goes where demand is and pauses where it is not.
Bookings, calls and directions tracked
Reservation widgets, phone taps, WhatsApp clicks and "get directions" each measured as their own event, so we can say what each campaign produced.
Locals and visitors, separately
Greek-language ads for residents, English for expats and tourists, with different offers and different ad sets. One message rarely suits both.
Weekly refresh
Menus change, weather changes, weekends fill differently. We rotate creative, move budget and adjust offers every week and log every change.
How we work
How we run restaurant marketing in Cyprus
- 01
Kitchen-side briefing
We learn your covers, average spend, quiet nights, busiest occasions and what a good week looks like. Targets are set in bookings and revenue, not reach.
- 02
Tracking setup
Meta pixel and Conversions API, GA4 and Google Tag Manager, booking widget events, call and WhatsApp tracking. Verified before a single ad runs.
- 03
Creative and offers
Photo and video plan, an offer for each occasion, Greek and English copy. We will tell you if an offer is too weak to advertise.
- 04
Launch by city
Campaigns go live with tight radius targeting and modest budgets, then scale toward the days, audiences and creative that produce reservations.
- 05
Weekly optimisation
Creative rotation, budget moves toward the ad sets that book, negative keywords on Search, and a one-page report on what changed and why.
What restaurant advertising in Cyprus costs
Single-city restaurants we work with typically start between €500 and €1,500 per month in media spend, paid directly to Meta or Google from your own ad account. Our management fee sits on top. The right figure depends on how many covers you can add, your average spend per head and how many nights a week you actually have tables to fill.
A cafe with a strong brunch trade and a large beachfront restaurant in Larnaca need very different budgets. We start conservatively, prove the cost per booking, then scale into the occasions and weekends where the numbers hold.
Seasonality: when restaurants in Cyprus should spend
Demand is not flat. Coastal restaurants in Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca fill with visitors from late spring to October and lean on residents through winter. Nicosia has no tourist season to speak of and runs on office lunches, family weekends and events all year. August empties the capital and packs the coast.
The peaks that matter most for bookings are Christmas and New Year, Easter, Valentine's and the summer weekends. We build those campaigns weeks ahead, with offers and creative ready, and lower spend in the dead weeks rather than paying to advertise a quiet Tuesday in February.
Common mistakes we see in restaurant ad accounts
Boosting posts instead of running conversion campaigns is the most common. Boosted posts optimise for engagement, so Meta finds people who like food photos, many of whom live nowhere near you. The second is targeting the whole island. A restaurant in Paphos paying to reach people in Nicosia is paying for nothing.
Then there is the missing tracking. Without a booking event, a call event or at least a direction click, every campaign is judged on likes. We also see one generic ad running for months, no seasonal offers, and no retargeting of the people who already ate there. Each of these is fixable in the first two weeks.
Measuring restaurant ads: from click to cover
The honest measure of restaurant advertising is bookings and revenue, so that is what we track. Online reservations through your widget or booking provider are captured as conversion events. Phone taps, WhatsApp messages and direction requests are tracked separately, because a Google Maps direction click on a Friday evening is a near-certain cover.
For walk-in heavy venues we compare covers by week against spend and look at the lift on campaign nights. It is less precise than ecommerce tracking and we say so. It is still far better than judging the account on reach, and it lets us report ROAS honestly, as we did for the 3.32× Christmas campaign.
FAQ
Restaurants & Hospitality: questions we hear most
If your question is not here, ask. We keep replies short.
Most single-city restaurants start between €500 and €1,500 per month in media, with our fee on top. That is enough to run booking campaigns for one venue, test creative and cover the key occasions. Multi-venue groups and larger venues start higher.
Yes, when they are built as conversion campaigns with a booking event and a real offer. Our Christmas 2025 bookings campaign returned 3.32× ROAS on Facebook ads. Boosted posts with no tracking are a different thing and rarely pay.
Both have a role. Google Search and Maps catch people already looking for somewhere to eat tonight. Facebook and Instagram create the craving and sell occasions and events. Most restaurants start with Meta for bookings and add a small Search campaign for near-me searches.
Cafes, bars, beach clubs and hotel restaurants too. Cafe and bar advertising leans more on Instagram and events, and less on reservation tracking, so we adjust the campaign types and the measures accordingly.
Good phone footage of real dishes and a full room often outperforms polished stock imagery. We give you a simple shot list. If you have a photographer, better still. What we will not run is generic food photos that could be any restaurant.
Call taps from ads are tracked as conversions, and we can add call tracking numbers for a clearer picture. We also count WhatsApp clicks and direction requests. For a fuller view we recommend an online booking widget, which most diners now prefer anyway.
Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos and Larnaca each have a dedicated restaurant ads page with local detail. We also take on venues elsewhere on the island, using the same method with different targeting.
